[there's a pretty long pause between her reading the message and responding]

[there's no further response, but she'll make her way to the upper decks to find him]

[Yingxing's at one of the railings, cheek bandaged. He turns to look her over silently, looking for injuries.]

[she's uninjured, but her eyes are red from crying a lot]

...Hi.

[It takes everything in him not to immediately go to her and engulf her in a hug. He turns around and leans on the railing, facing her.]

You look like shit. Hurt anywhere?

[shakes her head]

I didn't get hurt at all.

How are you doing?

I got into it with Cade and some kids. Been worse.

[He sighs.] Honestly, I didn't think you'd come.

Did you think I'd hate you after you said those things?

You'd be right to, but knowing you, you wouldn't.

A lot of it was true, though.

[There's a flare of malice crawling up his throat. He swallows.]

Like me being a crybaby who doesn't know anything about the world.
